Preparing for the growing care needs of the future
Pulmonary Hypertension is a disease that has largely fallen through the cracks of the major specialities in both Australia and New Zealand. Although a relatively rare disease, statistics reveal an increase in those presenting with Pulmonary Hypertension including its rarest form, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).
Over the past 6 years, centres of ‘excellence’ have been established to deal with growing numbers of patients with PH in Australia and New Zealand. Although these centres have the ability to access the tests mandated by regulatory bodies, they do not always have the resources, personnel, time or infrastructure to deliver optimal service to patients with Pulmonary Hypertension.
It is in this environment the Pulmonary Hypertension Society of ANZ operates with a commitment to supporting sustainable models of care for patients in the future.
Members of the medical community with an interest in Pulmonary Hypertension are invited to join the PHSANZ - membership benefits currently include the ability to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting, Clear Air News letter, community and industry updates and scientific publication updates.
